It was only a matter of time before we mentioned Web 2.0
I know I know, Web 2.0 is SOOOOO 2005. Tim O’Reilly and co can get all sniffy about the term if they want, heck they can even keep it if they want, here at Tibus we’ve moved on to Web 4.0, with plans to release Web 4.1 later in the year, Web 5.0 next year. Don’t let us catch any of ye using those terms, or we’ll sue your asses!
Anyhow, this is just a note to encourage you to subscribe to the RSS feeds on the IIA website, so you need never miss an important piece of information from the website ever again. If this blog entry was a radio ad, it would go something like
[ background noise of heavy city traffic and car horns ]
– Tired of losing your IIA Digital Digest into to the abyss of your corporate SPAM filter
– Concerned that your click through rate from the IIA Digital Digest isn’t reaching the heady heights of 7% – 10%
– Wanting to become part of an opt in crowd demanding attention and relevant content
– Not using Microsoft Outlook to its fullest potential
– Wanting to contrive a use for the Windows Vista RSS thingie down the right hand side
[ sound of waterfall flowing, birds chirping softly ]
Be part of the in crowd, by going to IIA.ie, selecting the RSS feed icon and subscribing to our NEWS, EVENTS and BLOG RSS feeds. Get the info, meet those click thru targets, enjoy intellectual superiority over your workmates by getting news first, and realise finally that it’s best just to uninstall the Vista RSS thingie.
Find fulfilment, joy and ultimate happiness, at the IIA.ie RSS feeds!

Using the IIA website to promote your business
Earlier in the week I mentioned the member log in area, and outlined that a member could add blog and podcast feeds to their member page, in addition to member news and member vacancies. Member news and vacancies, added to your page, automatically gets submitted for potential inclusion on the home page of IIA.ie. As IIA.ie traffic continues to grow, this can get your business vital exposure to the right people, in the context of company news, announcement and job vacancies. Give it a try today, you won’t be disappointed.
Regards,
Gareth.

Multiple log ins per member company
Each morning for my period of guest blogging I’m just going to briefly introduce you to some new features (complete with member benefits) of the new site. To kick things off, let’s start with the log in process.
Each member company can get access to member only information on the site, and additionally gain access to a members extranet, where they can manage information on their own company, and add links to company Blogs and Podcasts. Additionally they can add member news and job vacancies, which will in turn be featured on the site, both company profile page and potentially elsewhere.
Each company can have more than one log in (combo of email address and password) up to a maximum dependent on your membership type. If you would like further log ins for your company please use the contact us page to get in touch and get set up.
Comments and queries welcome.

Marginally easier than getting out of Group D – IIA.ie relaunched
Hello Ireland!
Like the politician turning the last screw in the new bridge construction or the mayor kissing the baby before the election, I feel a little bit fraudulent being the face of the web agency responsible for the launch of the new iia.ie website. The reason is simply because the site is the culmination of a huge amount of effort and input from IIA members, IIA Board (some of whom provided their own company’s services free of charge in order to help the process), Fergal their CEO, and here at Tibus as well, Cleo (project manager) and Mark (lead programmer) not to mention Kirk (creative director) and Andrew (network management) have all really put significant effort into the site.
But neither this post, nor the new site is about us. It’s about the IIA members and servicing their needs. A significant proportion of the time invested in the definition process was about garnering member feedback in terms of what they wanted from the site, and the feedback was clear and consistent:
– Latest relevant news and events
– Member news and events
– Resources, white papers and best practice guidelines
– A flexible member profile, complete with extranet
We have sought to deliver this with the new site.
I know that clichés aren’t what they used to be, but our intention is that the IIA website will be a process (never ending) not a project (ticked off the to do list for ever). Thus if you have any thoughts / comments / suggestions / ideas / queries / concerns please don’t hesitate to add your comment. My view is that the iia.ie website can only improve by listening to and implementing relevant member suggestions.
Best regards,
Gareth.
